Indications:
properties
"Ciosin" is a potent luteolytic agent that causes a functional and morphological regression of the corpus luteum (luteolysis) in cattle and horses followed by a return to estrus and normal ovulation. The luteolytic effect can also be used to induce labor in cattle and pigs.

Indications for CATTLE
I - Planned creation
I.a) Artificial insemination planning through estrus synchronization can be done in several ways. However, the following types of “Ciosin” programming are suggested.

Program A:
It is recommended for properties where estrus observation is efficient. The animals receive the first dose of “Ciosin” and from that day on, all animals that show signs of estrus should be inseminated. This should be done within 11 days after the 1st dose, when a 2nd dose should be applied to animals that have not presented heat until then and have not been inseminated.
After the 2nd dose, it follows with the observation of estrus and insemination of the animals. This program requires an average of 15 doses of “Ciosin” and 10 doses of semen per cow.

Program B:
The animals receive the 1st dose followed by observation and insemination in animals that are in heat. 11 days later, animals that have not yet been inseminated receive the 2nd dose. Animals that received the 2nd dose should be inseminated at fixed times 72 and 96 hours after the 2nd dose without the need for estrus detection. This program requires an average of 15 doses of “Ciosin” and 15 doses of semen per cow.

Program C:
Its purpose is to inseminate at a pre-set time without observing the heat. The animals receive the 1st dose of “Ciosin” and 11 days after a 2nd dose. All animals, regardless of estrus observation, should be inseminated 72 to 96 hours after the 2nd dose. This program involves 2 doses of “Ciosin” and 2 doses of semen per cow.

I.b) Induction of labor. It should not be attempted before 270 days of gestation otherwise the birth of a non-viable calf may occur. As with all other methods that shorten the gestation period, an increased incidence of fetal membrane retention should be expected.

II - Therapeutic use
The. Sub-estrus (not visible estrus) - Animals in this situation should be treated with “Ciosin” after the diagnosis of a corpus luteum. Then, they must be carefully observed for estrus and insemination verification. If there is no response to treatment, these animals should receive the 2nd dose 11 days after the 1st dose and inseminated 72 to 96 hours later.

B. Elimination of normal but undesirable pregnancies - Pregnancy can be eliminated quickly and efficiently by inducing luteal regression up to about 150 days of gestation. No attempt should be made to abort animals over 200 days of gestation.

ç. Interruption of Abnormal Pregnancy - Removal of the mummified fetus - Induction of luteolysis will result in the expulsion of the mummified fetus from the uterus into the vagina, where it can be removed manually if necessary, as often the absence of fluid hinders the passage of the mummified fetus through the vagina.

d. Chronic Endometritis - This condition can be successfully treated with “Ciosin” which promotes luteolysis. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated at intervals of 10 - 14 days until the mucus of the animal in heat is completely clear. Usually 2 applications of “Ciosin” are enough.

and. Ovarian luteal cysts - A cystic ovary of a luteal nature associated with the persistence of the corpus luteum and absence of heat can be effectively treated with “Ciosin” making the animal return to cyclicity.

III - Reproductive Efficiency
The use of Ciosin immediately after parturition accelerates the process of uterine involution and increases the reproductive efficiency of herds.
The period of service therefore the interval between calvings can be significantly reduced through the use of 2 doses of Ciosin immediately after the birth: apply the first dose between the first and fourth days after the birth and the second dose of Ciosin three days after the first.
Indications for HORSES
The. Induction of luteolysis after premature death and fetal absorption - About 8 - 10% of mares that conceive lose the fetus during the first 100 days of gestation. The persistence of the luteal function in the ovary prevents the return to heat. The application of “Ciosin” in these cases makes the animal return to cyclicity.

B. Elimination of persistent diestrus - Some mares frequently and spontaneously enter and leave for prolonged periods of diestrus, especially in the last period of the mating season. The application of “Ciosin” causes the animal to go into heat, interrupting the prolonged diestrus.

ç. Elimination of pseudopregnancy - Some mares are mated during normal heat but when examined are “empty” although they show signs of gestation; this fact is
