Product information

Formula:
Ivomec® Gold has a thixotropic formulation, being a 3.15% solution of Ivermectin MERIAL.
Indications:
Ivomec® Gold is indicated for the effective treatment, control and prevention of infections caused by round worms (gastrointestinal and pulmonary), infestations by warble, ticks, Sucking Lice, mites that cause sarcoptic and psoroptic mange in cattle. Ivomec® Gold also helps the control of Chewing Lice - Bovicola (Damalinia) bovis - and mites that cause Chorioptic mange.
Ivomec® Gold was developed to combine an effective antiparasitic control over established infections/infestations, with a preventive antiparasitic effect for extended periods, ranging from 6 to 9 weeks on gastrointestinal and pulmonary roundworms, up to 75 days against ticks and up to 140 days on the berne. Ivomec® Gold has a unique and patented manufacturing methodology. The thixotropic effect, which is accentuated with agitation, causes the formulation's viscosity to decrease, increasing fluidity and facilitating the application of the product, indirectly helping its slow absorption and ensuring the expected plasma profile.

Ivermectin immobilizes the parasites, inducing a tonic paralysis of their muscles. This effect occurs due to the stimulation of the opening of Chlorine channels, existing in the nervous synapses of round worms and in the neuromuscular plates or buttons in arthropods, controlled by Glutamic Acid and GABA
(Gamma-aminobutyric acid). As a result of paralysis the parasites die and are eliminated.
Due to its pharmacodynamic characteristics, Ivomec® Gold reaches maximum efficacy against ticks from 14 to 17 days after application in cattle, with control of this parasite persisting for up to 75 days.
Dosage:
Ivomec® Gold is a highly efficient formulation, especially when inserted in an Integrated and Strategic Parasite Control Program, which aims to avoid, as much as possible, the host-parasite contact, preventing infection/infestation and consequently the damage caused by parasitism. Preventive use of the product is preferable to only curative use of infections/parasitic infestations, since its prophylactic characteristics make it more efficient, and with greater returns, when used strategically.

The recommended dose is 1 ml for every 50 kg of weight, administered subcutaneously in front or behind the palette. Use a sterile, 16 gauge needle, 15 to 20 mm in length. Use aseptic procedures in the application. The product bottle must be shaken before application.
