Clamoxyl

  Indications:

Clamoxyl is used to control or treat infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to amoxicillin in cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs and cats.

 

Clamoxyl is also recommended for the control of secondary infections in cases where the sensitive microorganism is not the primary cause of the disease. It can also be used as a preventative of infections in castrations, in the pre- and post-operative period of any other surgical intervention, at the discretion of the veterinarian.

 

Clamoxyl is particularly suitable for:

 

Cattle: Actinobacillosis (Actinobacillus lignieresii), Actinomycosis (Actinomyces bovis), Infectious arthritis (E. coli, Salmonella sp), Hematic anthrax (Bacillus anthracis), Symptomatic anthrax (Clostridium sp), Cystitis and metritis (E. coli, Corynebacterium spp,). Staphylococcus sp), Diarrhea (E. coli, Salmonella sp), Hoof infection (Actinomyces sp), Omphalitis and Omphalophlebitis (Streptococcus sp and Staphylococcus sp), Pasteurellosis (Pasteurella spp), Pneumonia (Pasteurella spp, Actinobacillus spp, Haemophillus) Bordetella sp, Streptococcus spp and Keratoconjunctivitis Moraxella bovis. Clamoxyl can be used as support medication in the therapy of bovine mastitis, associated with topical treatment with specific medication.

 

Sheep and goats: Actinobacillosis (Actinobacillus lignieresii), Infectious arthritis E. coli, Salmonella sp), Haematic anthrax (Bacillus anthracis), Symptomatic anthrax (Clostridium sp), Diarrhea (E. coli, Salmonella sp ), Hoof infection (Actinomyces sp ), Hoof infection (Actinomyces sp ). ) and Metrite E. coli, Corynebacterium spp, Staphylococcus sp, Streptococcus sp).

 

Pigs: Diarrhea (E. coli, Salmonella spp), Erysipelas Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae), Metrites (E. coli, Staphylococcus sp, Streptococcus sp), Omphalitis and Omphalophlebitis (Streptococcus sp, Staphylococcus sp), Pneumonia Happem Actinobacillus sp. , Bordetella bronchiseptica) and Hemorrhagic Septicemia (Actinobacillus spp, Pasteurella spp).

 

Dogs and cats: Hemorrhagic gastroenteritis E. coli, Salmonella spp), Skin infections (Staphylococcus spp, Metrites (Streptococcus sp, Staphylococcus sp, E. coli), Nephritis and urinary infections (E. coli), Omphalophlebitis (Streptococcus sp, Staphylococcus sp, Staphylococcus sp, Staphylococcus sp, E. coli), sp), Otitis (Streptococcus spp), Pneumonia Pasteurella spp, Actinobacillus (Haemophillus) spp).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Formula:

 

Each 100ml of Clamoxyl contains:

 

Amoxicillin (Trihydrate) .............................................................................

 

Vehicle q.s.p. .........................................................100 0.0ml

 

 

 

 

 

Dosage:

 

The recommended dosage of Clamoxyl is 15 mg/kg bodyweight, that is, 1ml of the suspension for 10 kg/weight.

 

After 48 hours of the first dose, make another application of Clamoxyl.

 

The dose and dosage of Clamoxyl can be changed at the discretion of the veterinarian.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Administration:

 

Clamoxyl should be administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Precautions:

 

Keep Clamoxyl product out of reach of children and pets.

 

Shake the Clamoxyl bottle vigorously before use.

 

After the injection, massage the site to facilitate the dispersion of the Clamoxyl product.

 

When the dose of Clamoxyl exceeds 20 mL, it is recommended to divide it in two different places.

 

Administration of Clamoxyl intravenously or intrasynovialally is not recommended.

 

Like other penicillin-based drugs, Clamoxyl is sensitive to hydrolysis when in contact with water. For this reason, at the time of use, it is recommended to use dry needles and syringes when transferring the Clamoxyl product from the vial to the syringe.

 

Like other penicillins, amoxicillin should not be used orally or parenterally in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters.

 

The use of Clamoxyl may eventually cause a reaction at the application site.

 

Do not use Clamoxyl product in animals with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins. In case of allergic reactions, medicate with epinephrine and/or steroids.

 

Store Clamoxyl product in its original, closed packaging, in a dry and cool place at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.

 

After opening the Clamoxyl bottle, use the entire contents within 28 days.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Grace period and usage restrictions:

 

Meat: Do not slaughter animals for human consumption until 25 days after the last treatment with Clamoxyl.

 

Milk: Do not use milk for human consumption from cows undergoing treatment. Cows treated with Clamoxyl will have their milk discarded for a period of 96 hours after the last treatment.
