ACURA is a ready-to-use antimicrobial, indicated for the treatment of infections in cattle, horses and dogs caused by bacteria sensitive to Ceftiour in a single dose (or in accordance with the veterinarian). Ceftiour is a 3rd generation cephalosporin, bactericidal and acts by inhibiting the synthesis of peptidoglycans in the bacterial wall.
how to use:
Route of administration: Intramuscular.
ACURA must be applied exclusively by the intramuscular route with the aid of appropriate, sterile equipment, coupled to 1.2 X 40mm needles for young cattle/horses and dogs or 1.6 X 40mm for adult cattle/horses.
Dosing regimen:
The recommended dosage for cattle, horses and dogs is 1 ml for each 20 kg of live weight, in a single dose. This dosage provides a dose of 3.15mg of Ceftiofur (hydrochloride) per kg bodyweight. The product can be re-administered after a period of 72 hours or, at the discretion of the veterinarian. Efficacy tests carried out through artificial infections by the aforementioned bacteria in bovine, equine and canine animals, demonstrated 99% efficacy, after treating the animals, in a single dose, with the Acura product.
Grace period:
Cattle:
The slaughter of treated animals should only be carried out 4 days after the last application. Zero grace milk.
Horses:
This product should not be applied to horses intended for human consumption
